Dan Rivoire
Interim Executive DirectorDan Rivoire returns to Bike SLO County bringing extensive experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. A Cal Poly MBA graduate, Dan’s diverse leadership background includes serving as an elected San Luis Obispo City Council Member, Vice President of Organizational Development at iFixit, Board Member with the Cal Poly Alumni Association, and Executive Director of Leadership SLO. His professional journey actually began with a seven-year tenure right here at Bike SLO County, making this return a true full-circle moment. Ever since moving to California in 2003, Dan has been deeply invested in local causes and service. Today, he remains fully committed to strengthening our community through authentic connection, equitable empowerment, and expanding access to healthy, sustainable lifestyles.
Noah Crabtree
Valet & Try-A-BikeNoah grew up in northern San Luis Obispo County and moved away to attend college at the University of Puget Sound. After graduating with a bachelor’s in English, he spent a couple of years traveling before finding his way back to the Central Coast. He currently lives in Morro Bay with his fiancé/partner/accomplice, Ella. Noah grew up surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, running, and climbing. He loves all kinds of human-powered endeavors and the myriad of ways in which these activities change our perception of ourselves and the world we live in. He has recently gotten into bicycles, so when he found a job opening for Bike SLO County, it seemed like a perfect fit! Noah is excited to work for an organization that advocates for alternative ways to think about transportation and community, and that advocates for healthier, more sustainable ways to engage with the world around us.
Willy Wilson
ProgramsWilly came to SLO in 2013 and soon after became involved with Bike SLO County as a volunteer in various capacities. She eventually served on the board of the organization from 2018 to 2020, and now works as program staff, working hands on in the Bike Kitchen and otherwise working behind the scenes on administration of programs.
Dan Rezai Asl
Bike Kitchen & RidewellAfter relocating from Humboldt County to San Luis Obispo in 2018, Dan immediately fell in love with the area. Having spent the last 10 years working in and managing bike shops, volunteering at the Bike Kitchen in San Luis Obispo in his free time felt like a great way to get to know the local bike community. After months of volunteering alongside other dedicated volunteers and staff members, the position of Programs Assistant and Bicycle Valet Coordinator opened up & Dan knew he was ready to take on a larger role at Bike SLO County. Dan applied, the planets aligned and he was offered the position!
Dan loves riding bicycles. Dan loves fixing bicycles. Dan loves to help other people with their bicycles. Once you get to know Dan, he’ll probably love you too.
Julia Valentine
Bike EducationJulia is a seasoned educator that has worked with children and adults in various classroom and outdoor settings over the last 27 years. Her passion for the environment and love of fun has meant that a bike has been a constant companion throughout her life. Catch her at any of our upcoming Bike SLO County events!
Rose Levinson-Woertz
Cycling Without AgeRose is a geriatric social worker who moved to SLO in 2013. She didn‘t know she was missing out on the bike community until she met her husband, Ian, in 2017, and he introduced her to biking as transportation. Now she can’t imagine life without several bikes in the garage, and their son, Calvin, rides in a cargo bike more often than a car. He‘s also loving his own bike, nicknamed Juice Box (because it’s purple).
In 2023, they took Cal to Copenhagen to experience international bike culture, and discovered Cycling Without Age. After returning to SLO, they reached out to Bike SLO County to see about starting the program under the organization’s leadership. CWA is launching in late summer 2024, and while Rose is the coordinator, Ian is helping with organization and is a volunteer pilot as well.
Rose likes riding downtown to meet friends or grab a meal, micromanaging her veg garden, swimming at Sinsheimer and playing games (invite her over to play games)
Melanie Mills
Board PresidentMelanie is a landscape architect at RRM Design Group and the President of the Bike SLO County Board of Directors. She earned her MLA from the University of Washington and has spent her career working with interdisciplinary design teams to integrate ecological function, multimodal transportation, and public art into community infrastructure. A daily bike commuter and enthusiastic mountain biker, Melanie is a dedicated advocate for safer, more welcoming streets and is passionate about creating environments where people of all ages and abilities feel comfortable walking and riding bikes.
Bill Bradlee
Board Vice PresidentBill lives in North county. He once heard someone say "if you want to hate this country, read the news every day. If you want to love this country, ride a bicycle across it." He decided to test the theory and, while he still reads the news daily, he found there is no better way to experience this country and its people than by riding a bicycle across it.
Bill works in the nonprofit world on climate change solutions. He has volunteered with many organizations including ECOSLO and the San Luis Obispo city bicycle advisory committee. He graduated with a master‘s degree in environmental studies. He owns two bikes; one folds and they’re both steel.
Hannah Havenrich
Board MemberHannah comes to the Bike SLO County Board as a former Bike SLO County on-bike educator and current Rideshare coordinator at the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments. Hannah graduated with a MS in Biology and has spent the last 10 years working on educating youth and the public about environmental stewardship and ecosystem knowledge. At Rideshare, Hannah now works daily to improve alternative transportation in SLO County and runs programs to encourage biking, walking, and carpooling. Hannah loves to mountain bike, road bike, and bike commute when possible, especially with friends and family.
Melanie Senn
Board MemberMelanie (Mel) Senn has been a bicycle commuter since she was 15 and got a job at Jack in the Box in the San Fernando Valley. That was 1986. Now 40 years later, she’s retired from teaching for the English department at Cal Poly and is now an owner / agent of Anderson & Senn Commercial Real Estate. Mel has lived in Argentina, Chile, and Mexico and has volunteered as an interpreter for medical clinics in Mexico and Guatemala. She’s produced award-winning stories as a freelancer for her beloved public radio station, KCBX. She raised her sons bicycling to Pacheco Elementary and is ever-so grateful that current parents and kids have the bicycle infrastructure she always dreamed of–and is eager to see more of it. Her heart warms to see ever more folks–old and young and in between–safely and happily bicycling in our county.
Ian Woertz
Board TreasurerIan is a professional engineer who graduated from Cal Poly with a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2008. He is committed to improving safety and increasing the ridership of bicyclists of all ages. Ian is a certified League Cycling Instructor and provides training for new pilots in the Cycling Without Age program. Ian’s favorite bicycle is an electric front-cargo bike, which often gets turned into a 12-foot-long great white shark on Halloween.
Rob Frew
Board Technology ConsultantRob Frew is a Security Technical Program Manager at Stripe and a proud San Luis Obispo local who believes the best way to experience the Central Coast is on two wheels. A recreational cyclist and devoted family man, Rob rides with his two kids and is passionate about building a community where families can safely explore their neighborhoods and beyond by bike. He and his wife Annie, a Cal Poly professor and published author, are deeply rooted in SLO and share a love of the outdoors, from cycling and hiking to camping adventures with their two dogs.
Rob is no stranger to community service. He serves on the board of Elks Lodge 322, where he chairs the Playground Committee, and brings that same hands-on, people-first energy to his role on the Bike SLO County board. Whether he’s advocating for safer bike infrastructure, hitting the trails with his family, or building something with his own hands, Rob is committed to making San Luis Obispo a better place to live, work, and ride.
Jaimie Jones
Board MemberJaimie Jones has called San Luis Obispo County home for more than 22 years and lives in Cayucos, where she enjoys the strong sense of community and easy access to the outdoors. As an active road cyclist and occasional bike commuter, she values safe, connected infrastructure that makes it easier for people of all ages and abilities to bike and walk. Jaimie joined the Bike SLO County Board of Directors to support efforts that make biking and walking safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable throughout the county. She has been involved in the local cycling community for many years, volunteering with SLO Nexus, helping organize the SLO Cross race, and participating in other local cycling events.
Professionally, Jaimie works in environmental consulting, where she supports a variety of projects, including transportation and infrastructure projects, and collaborates with agencies and stakeholders throughout California. She also volunteers with the Cayucos Land Conservancy, supporting the Land Stewardship and Hillside Parcels Committees. When she’s not working or volunteering, Jaimie can usually be found exploring the Central Coast on one of her many bicycles (her favorite is Olive, a rusty 1970s Schwinn Collegiate), hiking in Big Sur and Montaña de Oro, or planning her next backpacking adventure.
Jake Winett
Board SecretaryJake is a Strategic Advisor and Entrepreneur focused on scaling the adoption and impact of transformative technology platforms. Over 30+ years, he has led product, go-to-market, and executive teams across SaaS, AI/ML, mobile, and enterprise software at companies including Microsoft, Sony Pictures, and Mindbody, building cross-functional organizations and driving strategic outcomes in high-growth environments. A competitive road and gravel cyclist who competed in the UCI Gravel World Championships 2025 and a founding member of SLO GRVL, a community-based cycling club with over 600 members, Jake brings the same rigor and discipline to bike advocacy that he applies to building scalable products. He joined the Bike SLO County Board because he believes that thoughtful strategy, strong team execution, and real-world problem-solving are essential to expanding cycling access and creating communities where more people choose to ride.
Rory Baker
Board MemberRory brings hands-on experience in bicycling, education, and community-based projects. He previously worked at Bike SLO County, helping run Earn-a-Bike, Bike Valet, and the Bike Kitchen. He also helped found Full Cycle Compost, a worker cooperative in Humboldt County that collected compost entirely by bicycle and trailer.
Rory currently manages the Mustang Makerspace at Cal Poly, supporting students in learning, building, and problem-solving through hands-on projects. He brings a practical, community-focused perspective to the Bike SLO County board.
Bike SLO County functions with great staff and an active board. We are always looking for a few good people to join the board and be a part of our rapidly growing organization. Being a board member is a great chance to be directly involved in creating positive change for bicycles in SLO County!
